MUSEU DA BATATA DOCE

The "Museu da Batata Doce" was born from the desire of a family of local producers, with more than twenty years of experience in showing what is best done with the sweet potato from Rogil, in Aljezur. In this space, you will find the delicacies of the local confectioners and manufacturers of the region.
Aljezur is also known for the "Festival da Batata Doce", held in early December. When visiting the "Museu da Batata Doce", you can taste the specialties of the region at any time of the year.
The sweet potato of Aljezur has a different flavor, texture and color thanks to the region's climate. For its unique characteristics, it was recognized with the IGP Certification (Protected Geographical Indication).
At the "Museu da Batata Doce" store, you can buy another typical ingredient from the region, the Rogil's roasted peanut.
In addition to sweet potatoes, to take with you raw, roasted or fried, you will find all kinds of pastries, cakes, cookies and also regional drinks and liquors.
